Dealer Search

To search for a dealer, use the Dealer Search form. If you select Start Search without changing any of the information on the form, you will be searching for dealers for any manufacturer local to the entered postcode. You will see up to 25 matching dealers per pageful.

The following fields can be used to your search:

• Manufacturer this is a scrolling list of manufacturers in alphabetical order. To search for dealers of any manufacturer, select the first line of Any - You can select more than one manufacturer to search on.
  
  
• Enter the postcode that the proximity search of Local and Regional should be calculated from. Please enter the postcode with a space between the parts, for example, SW1 1AA. If the postcode field is left blank, the London postcode SW1 1AA is assumed.
  
  
• Use the link to the user login page to register with Carsource or to amend the details held about you. about you for subsequent visits.
  
  
• Enter the proximity of the dealers to list.
  • Local - relative to the entered postcode
    
    
  • Regional - relative to the entered postcode
    
    
  • National - all dealers known by Carsource
  
  
• Use the pull-down list to control how many dealers you will see listed on a page at once. The default setting is 25 and you can move to the next and previous pages. You can change this to up to 100 dealers per page.
  
  
• Clear Form resets the lists and fields to their default values (that is, dealers of any manufacturer, local to the entered postcode in groups of 25 per page).
  
  
• Start Search initiates the search.

Dealer List

After submitting a dealer search, a page will be displayed with the matching dealers. If no dealers are found matching your search criteria, you will see a message saying that none could be found in the specified area.

The following information is displayed if there are any matching dealers:

• The total number of dealers found matching your search, whether locally or regional to a specified postcode or nationally;
  
  
• Of these, the number of dealers displayed on the page - this will depend on the maximum number set on the search form. Dealers are listed in proximity order (closest first);
  
  
• List of matching dealers, giving:
  • Dealer name and make of car that deals with - the dealer name is a link to a dealer page;
  • Location (town and city);
  • Distance (from the center of the postcode you entered to the center of the postcode area of the dealer) in miles;
  • Telephone and fax number of the dealer.
  
  
• If not all cars are displayed on the page, a link to the next pageful. If not on the first page, there will also be a link to the previous pageful of cars.

Dealer Page

There is a page for each dealer giving:

• Dealer name
  
  
• Postal address
  
  
• Telephone number
  
  
• Fax number
  
  
• Link to a list of the dealer's used cars
  
  
• Link to book a test drive

Test Drive Request

From the car specification or dealer page, you can request to book a test drive. Test drive requests are specific for a make and model of car and dealer. Fill in the required information and you will be contacted by the dealer to confirm the booking.

• Manufacturer - automatically set to that of the last viewed car
• Model - automatically set to that of the last viewed car
• Version - automatically set to that of the last viewed car
• Date Requested - enter the date you want to make the booking for
• Full Name - your full name
• Telephone - your daytime telephone number
• Telephone Callback Instructions - any special instructions about calling
• Fax Name - your fax number
• E-mail - your e-mail address
• Dealer - one or the 10 closest dealers will be listed at the bottom of the page. If more than one dealer is listed, there will be a radio button against each and the first (closest) dealer is selected. The test drive request will go to whichever dealer the radio button field is active against. Only one dealer can be selected. The usual dealer information is listed:
  
  
  • Dealer name and make of car that deals with - the dealer name is a link to a dealer page;
  • Location (town and city);
  • Distance (from the center of the postcode you entered to the center of the postcode area of the dealer) in miles;
  • Telephone and fax number of the dealer.

Test Drive OK

When you have successfully submitted a booking request you will see a new page with a confirmation message.

Dealer's Used Car List

From the dealer page you can view a list of the dealer's used cars. This page is broken down into:

• Dealer name
  
  
• Postal address
  
  
• Telephone number
  
  
• Fax number
  
  
• List of the dealer's used cars, giving:
  
  
  • Make and Model - this is a link to a page with more detail about the car
  • Registration
  • Mileage
  • Price in Pounds Sterling
