SEAT ALTEA FREETRACK 4 NOW EVEN BETTER VALUE

On the back of a particularly positive Press reception, and with several hundred sales already under its belt, SEAT’s innovative new all-wheel drive Altea Freetrack 4 is becoming more attractive still with the announcement of eye-catching new prices.

Boosting the capable, capacious all-wheel drive MPV’s value still further, the new RRPs make the lavishly-equipped Altea Freetrack a particularly sweet deal for buyers keen to mix sporting performance with comfort and the reassurance of on-demand 4x4 traction.

SEAT’s first all-wheel drive offering, the Altea Freetrack has enjoyed a warm welcome from the specialist motoring Press. Small samples of motor noter enthusiasm range from Auto Express ‘For those who want the versatility of a 4x4 without the negative image such cars increasingly attract, the SEAT is well worth considering’ to CAR Online ‘On-road responses transfer off-road so it’s agile and chuckable, with lots of feel and the most delightful power oversteer out of gravelly hairpins’.

Now that space, pace and unmistakable SEAT style is available from just £19,495 RRP for the road-rippling 200 PS 2.0 TSI, and £19,995 RRP for the fast, frugal 170 PS 2.0 TDI. The new prices represent a saving of up to £1,400 against the previous RRP, and have been introduced as SEAT seeks to underline its ongoing commitment to maximum value for money.

Undeniably well-equipped, the Freetrack includes a lavish list of standard fit kit including (but not limited to): intelligent ‘on demand’ four-wheel drive, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with EBA (Emergency Brake Assistant) and tyre pressure monitoring, sports seats, interior roof storage boxes, rear seat entertainment system featuring built-in 7” TFT screen and RCA connectors, raised suspension and grippy all-road tyres.

Leading the way in the emerging ‘crossover’ segment of the new car market, the Altea Freetrack is designed to appeal to those who want not only the rugged looks and raised driving position of a 4x4 but also the refinement and performance of a hot hatch and the practicality of an MPV body shape.

Recent arrivals in the sector include the Nissan Qashqai and Vauxhall Antara, joining established names such as the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. But it’s the Altea Freetrack that SEAT says most elegantly combines all of the virtues of a true crossover car with generous specification and, now, even more enticing pricing.

Add the extra appeal of unmistakable, and butch, 4x4 styling – chunky scratch-resistant front and rear bumpers and exclusive 17” alloy wheels – plus a braked towing weight of fully 1,400 kg, and there’s more reason than ever to book a test drive.

Head of SEAT UK, Peter Wyhinny, said of the price list revisions: ‘The Freetrack is a key part of the expanded Altea family of cars, which also features standard and XL versions.

‘With this renewed emphasis on outstanding value for money, plus the unique appeal of SEAT’s first ever all-wheel drive powertrain, I’m sure the Altea Freetrack will continue to go from strength to strength.’
