There is no better way to experience the great outdoors, than in the new
Volvo V70 Cross Country. The modern and versatile image of today's
Volvos is being enhanced by the V70 XC, which adds a whole new dimension
to Volvo Motoring.
Style and practicality do not always combine. However, in the new Volvo
V70 XC - which has been developed from the V70 All Wheel Drive - elegant
design is combined with gripping performance for drivers who are seeking
the outdoor spirit without being restricted by the limitations of a
regular car.
To conquer ice, snow or sand the V70 XC is powered with the 2.5-litre,
five-cylinder, light pressure turbo engine with 193 bhp, found in the
V70 AWD. Drivers can either choose a five-speed manual gearbox or a
four-speed electronic automatic with three driving modes - sport,
economy and winter.
Even if the V70 XC and the V70 AWD are related, the exterior look of the
V70 XC is very different. The ride height of the XC has been increased
to give an extra 25mm ground clearance, and a new front grille and
deeper front bumpers as well as special cross bars and roof rails give
the V70 XC a distinctive profile.
In addition, the new colour - Sandstone - reflects the driving abilities
of the XC and inside the design with new canvas leather upholstery, side
storage nets for extra stowage and 'cocus' floormats to protect against
muddy feet also complement the exterior.
The V70 XC offers a blend of comfort and driving enjoyment - at prices
starting from £29,925 on the road - which together with the Volvo values
of safety, quality and environmental care, make this one of the most
flexible Volvos on sale.
